OlyBikes repairs all makes and models of bikes. We
believe that bicycles are practical vehicles that deserve to be
maintained. A well maintained bike is safe, quiet, enjoyable, and
economical.
Many shops offer a one-price-fits-all repair package. That's
convenient for the shop, but not always fair to the customer. Consider
these scenarios:
1) Customer has a bike needing minor adjustments totalling
$45. Shop charges flat tune-up rate -- say $60. The customer is
overcharged $15.
2) The shop charges $65 for a tune-up that
required more than $80 of work. The shop is out $15, and they aren't
about to let that money get away, so they raise the price on parts.
Again, the customer loses.
So why not be honest and up-front about everything?
At
OlyBikes, we give free estimates on repair jobs, including parts,
labor and sales tax. We strive to help our customers understand
why a part of their bike needs attention, not just that it needs
to be fixed. Furthermore, should we see something that needs attention,
but was not included in the estimate, we will call the owner for
permission to proceed. We understand that cyclists come from a diverse
economic background and, when needed, we work with our customers to
prioritize what work to have done to their bike.
